Pre-Flight

Photo-5

Ah sweet Tuesday. She is feeling so much better. The little stomach thing set us back slightly, if only because today she wanted to nurse like a crazy maniac to make up for it. Here you see her in the middle of a 2.5 hour nurse/nap/nurse/nap session that did not leave my lap. However we were able to get everything ready for the trip, as my mom pointed out we are not going to outer Mongolia (no offense to outer Mongolia, but I hear there's not much there). In fact I am going to Ceara's, one of my best friends in the whole wide world. Who just happens to be expecting one of Tuesday's best friends (she just doesn't know it yet). The last time we saw Ceara Tuesday was four days old I think. She's changed a bit 🙂

In fact I was going to do a post about her nine month check up and stuff, but ran out of time. So quickly (since this seems to be the baby book by default), let me say she is PERFECT. Oh more specific details? She is 27 inches long and 14 pounds, 9 ounces – moved back up to the 5% oh ya! That's my big girl 🙂 She's the exact same size I was at her age. She eats mama made solids happily, squash I think is her favorite, based on vigor of slapping the high chair tray. She nurses lots. She loves her papa to put her to sleep, on this most recent business trip I tried for nearly two hours to get her down and finally had Bj call, put him on speaker phone and he sung her to sleep. She can crawl like crazy now, and pull herself up on everything. I left a room for a minute, came back and couldn't see her. I called out for her and she was behind a chair. When I found her she just smiled, like, "oh ya, I got you Mom!" Her giggle is the best, she now has ticklish feet which is so funny. Like I said, perfect.

Now I don't want to brag but I'm all ready to go and I think I have the perfect knitting plan. It required a trip to the library to check out a book THAT I OWN because what the heck happened to it? I don't know. So I've go the main project, the quick project, the back up project, and the reserve project. I know, it doesn't sound like enough to me either, but like my mom said, it's not out mongolia.

Jars!

Just a quick post to let you know that there are lots of yummy ribbon jars up in my shop! Here is a quick link. I'd like this to be a nice long post with interesting tidbits on brussle sprouts, pumpkins, and cool fall weather. But tutu got sick. We went from trying on clothes:

to trying on more clothes:

to throwing up and complete exhaustion:

She happened to have her 9 month check up today, so we got right into the doctor. It's just a stomach bug, and should mostly be over. I felt sick, but I couldn't tell if it was because I was cleaning up vomit or what. We finally get to try out that stain policy we bought for our very light colored furniture, score! She was seriously cracking me up, because she fussed, threw up, and then was like, "hey let's play!" No worries at all. I hope that no worries attitude continues, because who is fly cross country with me on Thursday? That would be Tutu, and only Tutu…

Pumpkin Patch

A good friend of mine runs a cute little pumpkin patch in Rickreall (corner of 99W and Orrs Corner Road – check it out!) so Bj and I took Tutu today to get her first pumpkin. Kathy has carts to load your picks up in, so we stuck Tuesday in it and set out to find the perfect pumpkin.

We had this rule when we were little; we were allowed to get any pumpkin as long as we could carry it. Tuesday didn't do very well when she tried to pick up her pumpkin:

We did get her some tiny ones though, Kathy also has super cute gourds and mini pumpkins she grew. Do you like Tuesday's onsie? I could not resist (it was only four dollars at TJ Maxx):

(it says baby's first halloween). But I mostly had her bundled up, it was a weird really bright, but windy, so off and on cold sort of day.

We came back with quite a few. I need to get my porch all dressed up for the fall. I am putting off winterizing it, but it's time to take in the pillows I know.

Other fun things at the patch:

She was up there for like half a second with out Bj's hand behind her, I can't believe he's not in the picture, score! And of course:

Also I guess how many sugar pumpkins were in a big jar – I totally want to win, I love those things!!! So pumpkins, check… next up, super awesome halloween costume.

Eating it up

So Tuesday is on the full on two meals a day schedule. I should say two meals not at the breast, she still takes plenty of those. The little Wednesday market downtown is only going until the end of October, and the month seems to be flying by so I figured I should stock up on some yumminess for my little lady while I can still get it fresh and local. I bundled her up and headed downtown:

Attack of the handknits. Oh wait it got better with the addition of a handknit bib!

A little side note, while she does have lots of knit things and is growing slowly, she still is growing. I need to get my butt in gear and get a few more sweaters, hats and blankets in her closet before winter. I'm spinning for another stroller blanket right now.

We got lots of yumminess:

Luckily my mom met us down there so she took my haul back to the house for me. Not everything would fit under the stroller since we were shedding those clothes and blankets as the day heated up – fall weather can be so confusing! Also we had some heavy and strange sized stuff. Anyone know what these are?

Food and knits-4

It took Bj a minute, he hadn't seen them in this state before. No I didn't make them into baby food for Tuesday. But I did everything else (and the kitchen is in such a disaster state to prove it), minus the acorn squash, which I didn't get to:

Food and knits-5

Excuse the pictures, they are all kind of wonky as I was using the point and shoot, but not the flash. I take my camera's high ISO settings for granted sometimes! That's peas, carrots, delicata squash, and beets. I got out the food processor for all but the squash (I use my food mill for that) and it worked great. I now have at least 150 servings of baby food in the freezer. I just keep reusing the containers by popping out the food cubes and putting those into labeled freezer bags. I think I want to do some pears, and maybe some more squash since Tuesday loves it, then I think I'll mostly be done. I'll just freeze extra portions of whatever we make with our meals. I'm hoping she'll be able to do some finger foods soon anyway. I have to try some of the tips you left on my last baby food post. I think I can start to do some mixed stuff soon too.

Working it

Bj just asked me if I was finished with all my work. I think that is something I could never fully say yes to, that's a problem with having your own business (and being the only employee). There is always something to work on. I did get lots done though, with my super special helper.

Tutu helps-39

Actually though, she is not as big a help as she thinks, but I still love her. I am finally FINALLY getting my butt back in gear with Ribbon Jar, working on fun things like my Special Collection Jars. Heads up I'm going to be putting a lot of stuff on the sale page, and adding lots of new stuff. Plus re-vamping my home page, idea pages, and gallery pages. Oh and a newsletter, I've got to get out a newsletter…. so ya, work is not done. 🙂 It's funny though, just two days of shredding it and I've got more energy, whoo hoo. I know Sciarrino is always telling me this, but I keep falling off the wagon. Not this time though. If I want those cabinets I have to get my act together, the special deal on the price only lasts through mid november – I've got 9.2 pounds to go, so what is that like 1.5 pounds a week. That sounds impossible, but I'm going to give it a go. Damn you mini candy bars in the freezer…

Little Bear

This weekend was downright fabulous. We didn't even do that much. Baby food making with our friends Karen, Kathryn, and Kourtney. I love using this thing.

There is something very zen about mushing up food. And I'm mushing up a lot of it, Tuesday has decided to start eating a ton. I don't have cans of baby food, but I'd guess she's eating about 4 ounces at lunch and another 4 at dinner! In addition to lots of milky, which makes me happy. We did little things around the house, saw grandparents, ate out, worked, scrubbed things. It was just, nice. I also had a little date with Jillian, my first in a while. I think Bj is worried I'm going to get to my goal weight soon (and thus get my cabinets), because he suggested we go out for ice cream. He then said, "Oh we shouldn't." But I already had it in my mind and started bundling up Tutu.

100409-2

HAHAHAHAHA. Oh she is so cute and funny in this thing. We had one for her last season, but she never fit into it, and of course now it's too small. Luckily they still had similar styles at the Gap, so I picked another one up. I really got it for walks outside, not quick rides in the car, but I couldn't resist this once.

She seemed chill with it.
